We started to shoot the 1st version, Plan A, and our original role distribution is I’m in charge of costuming lighting and the set, props. However we couldn’t find one who could act the character lily, so I also involved in acting.

Script for plan A is done together with my two teammates:

I’ve created a shortlist for plan A:

Extracts from the Storyboard:

As we considered before, Plan A does not going well, so we chose to focus on the character Lily and her death.

2nd version:

We give up the idea of party, just leave the story between Christopher (boyfriend) and Lily. However, we've tried to put all the footages together, the opening is not looking like a film opening but three separate timeline stories.

Script:

3rd version:

We deleted the boyfriend character and add a female detective, using her perspective to tell the story.

The idea of having a female detective is because in film noir, there’s always a female fatal but male hero who save the female character. I want to break the trope by having a converted character. This idea was originally inspired by the movie "Gone Girl", as Amy is gone, a female police officer is in charge of her case, and in our film opening, Lily is dead and the female detective is taking the responsibility of this case. We want to evoke female audiences’ empathy at this point. We also want to apply J-cut in the opening to set up the mysterious and tension of the story.

Here is a detailed breakdown of the changes made to the script:
